Balmain, under the guiding hand of Christophe Decarnin, has become an unmistakable force to be reckoned with; particularly when it comes to some of the sexiest, shiniest, most rock star-worthy womenswear going. But does Decarnin's menswear carry the same sexual intensity and effortless cool factor that makes his womens lines such a success? Judging by the label's Spring 2010 menswear lookbook, the resounding answer is "yes".

LMFF event opportunity

When we attended The Spirit of the Black Dress launch last year, we were nothing short of impressed. Ten beautifully designed dresses were showcased in a sleek exhibition space, giving credence to the talent of the designers who created them. Unsupisingly, the event was a big success; so much so that it will be on again in March as part of LMFF (L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival).

Applications for designers for the event are now open - a fabulous opportunity for any designer.
